Parts Needed To Install a Curt TriFlex Brake Controller On a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado
Question:
I am looking at the Curt C24VV break controller per your video. I do not think I have a pug under dash on my 2008 Z71 Silverado to connect controller to. Is there an adapter for controller plug to wire directly in...? I dont want to have to cut plug off controller.

To install the Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV on your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado you will need a Universal Wiring Adapter # C51515, M6 Nut # 185916 and M8 Nut # 185917. While your Silverado does not have a connector the wiring is located under the dash to the left of the steering column bundled together. You will connect the wiring under the dash to the adapter as follows.
GM Red/Black wire to Adapter Black wire
GM White wire to Adapter White wire
GM Light Blue/White wire to Adapter Red wire
GM Dark Blue wire to Adapter Blue wire
If you have an orange wire it is not used and will need to be left alone.
Under your hood at the fuse panel there are 2 wires that need connected to the power studs. To do this you will need the M6 Nut # 185916 and M8 Nut # 185917 mentioned above. I have included an image that will help you locate the Red/Black wires with eyelets on them. One sends power to the brake controller while the other powers the charge line on your 7-way.
