Solution for Carrying Bikes Between Travel Trailer and Truck

Question:

Hi there, I was looking at the Curt Clamp-On 3 Bike Rack for 2inch Ball Mounts - Towing C18013 and really like that idea. However, Im concerned with the weight that it maybe able to carry and the clearance behind the truck and in front of the propane tank on hitch. Are you familiar with the Jack-It Double Bike Carrier System from Lets Go Aero? I saw it in action this past weekend and it looks real slick. I talked to the owner and he is hauling e-bikes which shows that the rack can hold a fair bit of weight. Do you have something similar at etrailer.com? Thanks from a big fan of your site.

The Curt # C18013 Clamp On bike rack can handle 3 bikes weighing up to 45 lbs each. To achieve clearance between the truck tailgate and the travel trailer, an extended length ball mount could be needed, I'll link to our selection of extra-length ball mounts. The Curt # C18013 will take up 1-1/2 inches of room on the ball mount shank.

We do carry the Let's Go Aero Jack-It as part # LC429756, which has a 40 lb per bike capacity. This rack will move the bikes up and out of the way, so they'll clear your propane tanks without needing to worry about clearance to the truck, so that's the route I'd recommend you go.

I've linked a dimensional photo of the Jack-It bike rack as well as to a demonstration video you might find helpful.
