Best Weight Distribution System w 4-Point Sway Control
Question:
I currently have ez lift 48050 1000/10000 with round bar and 1 friction sway control. I just purchased a new travel trailer that is much heavier than my old one and the single friction control just isnt cutting it. Can I switch to dual cam without purchasing a new hitch head? Or would I be better off with a 4 point away hitch.

Since you have gone up so much in weight I recommend replacing your current system with something built specifically to handle that much capacity. Throwing parts at your current EZ lift weight distribution hitch isn't going to change how under rated it is. I saw you were looking at the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BXW1500 and the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control item # C17501. Both of these systems have a 15,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 1,500 lbs maximum tongue weight capacity. Out of these two I recommend going with the Curt TruTrack. You will need to make sure your trailer's tongue weight is between 1,000 lbs - 1,500 lbs for this system to work effectively.
