Trailer Replacement Coupler Solution with Lunette Ring for Surge Drum Brakes 10k Trailer

Question:

I’m fixing a 10k equipment trailer. It needs a new coupler and brake setup. Old ones are rusted out. Axel looks ok. 8 bolt axel/rims. I need help choosing which setup would be best. 2 5/16 ball or lunette. Electric brakes if it’s easier to repair /maintain.

The Titan Brake Actuator # T4848600 that you referenced would be a great solution. It has a 20k capacity, a 3 inch lunette ring like you need, and has and adjustable height coupler.

Surge brakes are easier to use and maintain than electric brakes. They are just a little more rugged and less prone to little issues like shorts and corrosion.
