Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD Prevent Chucking

Question:

My truck is experiencing chucking from a 4200lb empty gooseneck trailer. Hitch and ball checked fine. Even with adequate air in the airlift struts to level the truck/trailer, the chucking occurs during normal highway driving, most often when the trailer hits is small bump, but also stopping/starting. Suspension has been checked and is fine. Would airbags increase the lateral stability during towing? If not, what else can be done?

If you are using air shocks to level your suspension and not additional suspension support I would imagine that is why you are experiencing chucking. The best suspension enhancement kit we have for your 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD would be the RoadActive Suspension kit part # RAS54FR which will give you the adjustable support you are wanting, is easily installed, and unlike other options will improve ride quality and stability loaded and unloaded.
