Compatibility of SilentACT Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock # SHP2082 w/ Swagman XTC-2 Bike Rack # S64670

Question:

I have the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 24824 installed on my 2008 VW EOS and use it with the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Rack S64670. Would the SilentACT Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 1-1/4, 2, and 2-1/2inch Hitches SHP2082 work with my setup? I realize I have other options but I like the no-tool feature of this lock. The Silent Act locking hitch pin you mentioned would most likely work with the Swagman XTC2 rack, but the threaded block would need to be removed from the shank of the bike rack. My Swagman representative tells me that they do not recommend using any other locking option than their locking hitch pin, part # S64029 because it is the only lock the rack has been tested with.

I cannot officially endorse doing anything that would contradict the bike rack manufactures recommendations.
