How Close to Level Should a Trailer Be When Towing
Question:
I will be towing a utility trailer hauling atv on a Dodge journey. I measured everything, but cant get exactly the level. Is it ok to have a 1 inch higher tongue? Thanks

Yes, as long as you are within 2-3" you will be fine. Since you are only off by 1" that is acceptable. Perfectly level is ideal, but often it is difficult to be exact between a trailer and a vehicle.
When measuring, make sure you are parked on level ground and measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening. Then you measure from the ground to the bottom of your coupler. The difference between the two is the rise or drop you will need. Assuming this is how you measured you won't have a problem.
I have attached a helpful article which covers this in more detail, along with a link to all of our available ball mounts for your reference.
