Will the SportRack Vista Cargo Box Fit the Factory Roof Rack on a 2011 Chevy Equinox

Question:

I have a 2011 Chevolet Equinox with the factory installed roof rack with adjustable cross bars. Wondering If the SportRack SR7018 Vista XL rear opening cargo box made by Thule will fit. Thanks.

To determine whether or not the SportRack Vista cargo box # SR7018 will fit the factory roof rack on your 2011 Chevy Equinox you will need to take a closer look at the crossbars on the roof rack. You will need to take a couple of measurements. Start with the width of the crossbars. If they are no wider than 4 inches the mounting hardware of the box will fit around them.

Then measure the center to center distance between the 2 bars. The distance will need to be between 23-5/8 inches and 34 inches for the box to fit. Since you have adjustable crossbars this is probably not an issue. The wider the spread, the better and more support there will be for the box.

Be sure to consult the owners manual and/or Chevy for the roof rack and roof capacity before loading anything on the roof. I have linked a video review of the cargo box for you.
