2022 Toyota RAV4 Roof Rack Recommendation for Naked Roof
Question:
Hi, As of 2022, RAV4 LE FWD and AWD dont come with rails. Rails are not an option for install at the car dealership either. Im thinking of using landing pad no 6 but was wondering whats are the widht of those landing pad i.e. the rubber in contact with the roof. I try to decide if it sould go in the roof groove with the plastic removed in the factory paint sealed holes or should I drill beside that grooved where the flush rail usually sit, I figure landing pad no 23 would sit to high without the rail.

The rubber base that comes with the Landing Pad 6 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers for Fiberglass Roofs # Y00226 measures 5.78" long x 1.74" wide. I'm not sure if this will fit inside the space you're showing but you should be able to determine if this will work for your 2022 Toyota RAV4.
For a completely custom-fit roof rack I recommend going with the Vortex roof rack from Rhino-Rack:

This installs using clamps that secure in the door jambs of your vehicle so you won't have to remove/cut that rubber strip and you can avoid modifying your roof.
