Replacing RV 3 Step System With 4 Step Fold Down Style Stairs

Question:

Want to replace our 3- steps with a 4-step system, however, most of the pull out staircases are 28inch wide and the brackets on our 2013 Heartland Sundance is only 27-5/8inch inside of the mounting brackets. What staircase fits this application, looked at Mor-Ryde and the Lippert units and none fit this RV. I have looked at both MORryde and the Lippert stairs and prefer the Lippert. I have a dimension of 29-5/8” Jamb to Jamb inside the door and a sill height of 39” to ground level.

Great question! I have a solution for you. Since Lippert doesn't have a 4 step and their 3 step is a little to short, I recommend going with the MORryde. It has four steps, will fit all of your RV doorway dimensions and height requirements.

**MORryde StepAbove RV Steps for 27-3/4" to 30-1/4" Wide Doorways - 4 Steps # MR28RR.
*SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps for 29" to 36" Wide RV Door Frames - Triple - Aluminum # LC791573.

We do not have a Lippert Solid Step that has 4 steps. However, the three step I have linked will fit most of your dimension but it will come up about 3 inches short on the height. So you would need to get some blocks to place under it to keep it level.

I have linked a review of each product to help you further decide what system is best for your needs.
