When choosing a brake controller for your 2001 Ford Van E-350 The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Proportional, Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED24FR and The wiring harness # RED69FR would work. The Redarc controller installs out of site and the control knob mounts in the dash or other accessible area.

When it comes to the manual override it will act like any other manual override feature in which you need to press and hold the knob to apply the brakes.

If you have the factory 7 way on your vehicle already you're good to go. If you do not you will need to first attach The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118344 which is an easy plug and play installation that plugs behind the driver and passenger side tail lights. From there you would need to get The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7 which will attach to the 4 flat plug that you just installed and will give the additional wires to activate the brakes on your vehicle and make them in unison with the brakes on your trailer.

I have attach an installation and review video link below.
