What 7-Way Harness do I Need to Install a Brake Controller on My 2019 Ford Flex?
Question:
I have a 2019 Ford Flex and a new 2 axle trailer - the Flex has a 4 pin harness. I have an adapter for 4 pin to 7 pin but I need to wire a brake controller in. How do I do this? Draw-Tite I-Command Trailer Brake Controller

I have what you need! Even though you have an adapter, you need to have a 7-way harness that you need to install in addition to the 4-way you installed already. The 7-way harness will provide its own plug so you will not use your adapter for the brake controller. For the 7-way, the part you need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. This harness splices into your current wiring installed on your 2019 Ford Flex. I went ahead and attached an installation walkthrough of the 7-way being installed on a 2016 model Flex. The installation on your 2019 is a nearly identical process.
Also, since you are using the Draw-Tite I-Command 5535, you need the plug-in harness # 20127 is to complete the installation if you do not have that part already.
