Measuring for Fitment of the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13704

Question:

The cross tube measures 68-1/2inch Though the description said upto a 66inch wide frame can the hitch be used on a box frame with outside dimensions of 68-1/2inch though there deception says upto 66inch width? Thank you.

The cross-tube of the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13704, slides inside a bracket that is mounted to the frame. These brackets cannot be mounted further than 66" on centerline from each other or there is too much of a gap for the cross-tube to set in. The brackets do not hold the cross-tube from the very ends of the tube, but the cross-tube sets inside of the brackets. If your frame is of steel tubing measure to the center of the steel tube on one side of frame to the same point on the opposite side of the frame. If that measurement is 66" or less, this will work to be mounted to the bottom of the frame by way of bolting or welding.

If your frame is too wide for this particular hitch, please let us know as we have multiple options.
