Which Tire Chains Fit a 2005 Volkswagen Beetle
Question:
Do you recommend these chains for a 2005 VW Beetle. The tire size seems ok 205/55 R16 91H CH95, but Im worried about the clearance. My VW manual says clearance is only 0.5 inch, so Im wondering if I need special low-profile chains. Whats your advice?

Expert Reply:
The Thule Self-Tensioning Snow Chains for Passenger Vehicles are specific to the size of your tire. They are not necessarily matched to your vehicle. Those chains wrap completely around the wheel, which may cause some problems with your clearance.
Thule recommended you look into the K-Summit chains, part # TH02230K23, as they are mainly on the treads of the tire and are less likely to interfere with your wheel well.
