Can Quick Links be Used to Add Length to Trailer Safety Chains
Question:
I have a Jayco 174BH travel trailer and the safety chain with hook attaches to my tow vehicle. Im looking to extend the chain by at least 2 links and seeing what my options are as replacing the entire chain will require welding, etc... I heard quick links might work but wanted to see what my options are. The travel trailer would be 5000lbs and below in terms of weight.

Quick links like the Curt # C82932 would work for what you are needing. Each of these have a capacity of 3,300 lbs so you'd easily have the 5,000 lb weight of the trailer covered since these would be used in pairs.
