No, you'll be fine using the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523188-5 on your 2017 Buick Envision AWD. This base plate kit is compatible with all models of the 2017 Buick Envision. You will however need use a compatible tow bar to avoid having to purchase an additional adapter.

For this I recommend the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates # e74ZR. This tow bar is specifically designed to fit the direct-connect attachment points on your Roadmaster base plate kit. It features non-binding latches and telescoping, self supporting arms that make connecting and disconnecting your Envision on any terrain a breeze. It has an adjustable head that tilts up or down 3" and the shank has a built-in 1-1/2" rise or drop to keep tow bar parallel with road while towing without the use of a high/low hitch adapter. It also comes with safety cables included.

To flat tow your envision you'll also need a tow bar wiring kit and braking system, if you haven't already purchased these items then I have the following recommendations for you:

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15247. This diode kit allows you to use your Buick Envision's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.

Since your Envision has separate lighting this kit will cause your brake lights to function as both brake and turn signal lights. A wiring converter # 118158 and 2 additional diodes # RM-792 will be needed if you want to retain separate turn and brake signals.

Note: Brake light relay # RM-88400 may be required if used with supplemental braking system to prevent your towed car's brake signal from overriding the turn signal that comes from your RV.

The owner's manual states to also remove fuses 29 and 32 before flat towing. To make this as easy as flipping a switch you can install the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicle # RM76512. Removing and replacing the fuse can wear on the contacts in the fuse box and overtime break them, which is no easy task to replace. I've attached a diagram of the fuse block below and highlight the fuses you'll need to remove.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking from the cab of your motorhome using the remote. The included charge line kit will keep your battery charged while you tow so that you don't have to deal with a dead battery when you reach your destination.
