Troubleshooting A Malfunctioning Lippert RV Coach Step Module
Question:
I have looked at everything and can find nothing wrong with my system. The steps deploy properly with the door movement. The problem is they will not stay out deployed when parked. The switch to keep them out does nothing other than turning the step lite off and on. I did, however, notice that both grounds are connected to the steps and not the chassis. Would this possibly cause this situation?

Expert Reply:
A bad ground can certainly cause the control module # LC301702 of your steps to malfunction. I recommend grounding it directly to a bare-metal surface on your chassis to ensure a proper ground.
