Recommended Replacement For A Square Tie Down Axle

Question:

Trailer Axle Replacement. I am replacing a Tie Down Part No. 49558 trailer axle. Specs: 2x2x1/4 square, Overall 86 Hub Face 81.25, Spindle 1-3/8 x 1-1/16. I would like to buy a new axle that comes with hubs. Suggestions?

Since we don't have square axles, or ones matching your current axle's length, my recommendation is to install the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs # A35RS545E.

This axle-less system provides a smooth, quiet, safe ride and can eliminate the need for an axle, allowing for maximum ground clearance and a low deck height. These suspension units replace your existing axle and operate independently, allowing them to fit any frame width. These straight, EZ Lube spindles with electric brake hubs and assemblies accept wheels with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and regular tires
