What Are the Dimensions of the Hopkins License Bracket Mount Backup Sensor # HM60100VA

Question:

How thick is plastic where the plate goes?? and how far do the sensors stick out over all measurment?? This would be installed on an in bumper type recessed location.

The base of the Hopkins License Bracket Mount Backup Sensor, part # HM60100VA, measures 1/2-inch thick overall. The two sensors at the top corners extend 1-1/2 inches forward from the back of the unit. At its widest point (at the pivot pins that allow vertical adjustment of the two sensors) the unit measures 13-1/4 inches wide from end to end. These and other dimensions are shown on the photo provided.

Note that depending on your vehicle and how deeply recessed the mounting location is you may find the sensors have a reduced pickup area. Each sensor on the plate can detect objects as much as 5-1/2 feet out and at about a 45 degree field. If an object was very close to the back of your vehicle and off to one side, the sensors may not be able to detect its presence.
