How to Convert a Drum Brake Actuator Titan Model 6 to a Disk Actuator

I recently purchased a Titan Model 6 Drum Brake Actuator. Three week late, a friend stated that disc brakes were better. I ordered four disc brake assemblies. Question is, can the new actuator that I bought be converted in any way to fit the disc brakes or do I have to buy a new disc brake actuator?

If you remove or puncture the metal check valve from your current master cylinder you will essentially have a disc brake master cylinder.

What you will need to do is remove the large snap ring from the front of your actuator where the brake line attaches, pull the spring out, and at the end of the spring there will be a metal check valve. If you remove that check valve and reassemble the brake assembly without it you will be ready to use disc brakes.

Or a less invasive way is to puncture the check valve, basically you would just run a skinny ice pick or other sharp rod down the back opening of the actuator and then puncture the check valve and you would be ready to go.

You will also need to bleed your brakes once you are done with the conversion before you tow your trailer. I have attached a video of how this is done for you to check out.
