The plate itself is 3 inches thick. A standard bed rail is 1-1/4 inch thick, so when mounted in a standard bed rail, the top of the plate would be 4-1/4 inches above the upper corrugation of the bed floor, as shown in the photo I have edited for you.

The hitch itself is rated at 25,000 lbs, and a pin weight capacity of 6,250 lbs, but you will be limited to the capacity of your truck if it is lower.
