Fifth Wheel Hitch Install Kit and Sidewinder for 2011 Ford F150 with 5-1/2 Foot Bed

Question:

I have a 2011 Ford F 150 short box 5.5 ft I understand this sidewinder will work, if so will the sidewinder also work with my older Reese 14 K 5th wheel part number 30031 + 30036 + 30726. This hitch also has a number 06-26-97 not sure this is maybe the year?? And does the RP34FR sidewinder come with everything I need. Can I get installation brackets for the old 14 K 5th wheel to mount my rails in the Ford short box truck?

The Reese Sidewinder you mentioned, part # RP34FR is indeed compatible with a Lippert 1621 pin box. The Sidewinder includes a universal wedge that is compatible with your Reese hitch.

The # RP34FR includes the assembly hardware shown in the installation instructions, see link. The bolts used to mount your existing pin box would be reused, if they are in good condition.

To install the hitch you referenced on your 2011 Ford F150, I would recommend the custom install kit, part # RP56006-53. A custom kit would typically install in about 1/2 the time of a universal kit.

I was not able to identify any of the hitch part numbers you provided. For the 5.5 foot truck bed, we recommend using a stationary, non sliding hitch. If your current hitch is a sliding model, you will need to leave it slid fully forward.

I have linked you to some FAQ articles about fifth wheel hitches and the Sidewinder.
