Recommended Brake Controller for 2017 Ford F-150 XLT Supercab
Question:
I am buying a trailer thats been equipped with a Redarc Tow-pro Elite brake system. I need to get a new controller. I drive a 2017 Ford F-150 XLT Supercab. Does the brand of controller matter? What do you recommend? Where would I buy it? Thanks

The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR is actually a brake controller and there is no brake system by that name. The trailer would have electric brakes so it would need a brake controller like this to work. Also, the brand of controller does not matter aside from the potential differences in quality. The Tow-Pro Elite is a great option and highly recommended for a brake controller in your 2017 Ford F-150 XLT Supercab. If you have the factory 4-flat or 7-way you would also want the # 331-TPH-007 for installation.
If you would like an option that requires no installation then the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional # C51180 is another great choice that I would recommend. This plugs in-line with the 7-way at the back of your vehicle and is controlled via the app on your phone. The app allows you to adjust the braking power and also acts as the manual override. This is easy to transfer between vehicles and can store up to 5 vehicle-trailer profiles.
Both of these are available here at etrailer. I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
