What Wiring Should I Use with a 28-Foot Cable with the Redarc Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1240D?
Question:
Im installing a REDARC 331-BCDC1240D charger in my travel trailer, and would appreciate your advice regarding wire gauge for the 12V feed from my tow vehicle battery to the REDARC. The wire run from the vehicle battery to the REDARC will be ~28ft with one Anderson type connector between the vehicle and trailer. Will a 4awg pair do the job as the table on your REDARC page suggests , or would you recommend 2awg?

Yes, if the total length of your wiring with the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC # 331-BCDC1240D is approximately 28 feet, we recommend using a 4awg application. You are absolutely correct that the REDARC table suggests this route. I went ahead and attached an image of that table for your convenience.
