Is Weight Capacity on Tire Sidewall Per Tire or Per Axle
Question:
I have a single axle trailer and the tires say a max load of 2860 at 80 psi so is that per tire so the total weight of those two tires could carry would be around 5400 pounds

The load capacity information displayed on your tire's sidewall is the capacity for a single tire. For the capacity per axle, double that number. If your tire sidewall shows 2860 lbs as the max capacity at full inflation, the capacity per axle would be 5720 lbs.
