What 7-Way Wiring Harness Is Compatible With My 2022 Hyundai Tucson
Question:
I have a 2022 Hyundai Tucson with factory installed trailer hitch with flat four wiring. The owners manual says it an tow up to 3500 lbs but over 1500 it should be with trailer brakes. My trailers both weighing between 1500 and 2300 have electric brakes with 7 pin wiring. Is there a plug in adapter for my Tucson that will get me to 7 pin for the brakes that is easy. I currently use a Curt Bluetooth brake actuator. Thanks for the help

I did some research and I was unable to find a custom 7-way wiring harness for your 2022 Hyundai Tucson. You do have an option, but it will require some wiring splicing. The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires, part # ETBC7, will fit your vehicle.
You will also need a brake controller. I like the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional, part # C51180, because it is wireless. You will not have to mess with any more of your wiring to get this installed properly. You will use a mobile app to monitor your trailer's braking. It is also a proportional brake controller. This means the same amount of force you apply to your brake controller will be applied to your trailer's brakes.
I have included product description link, a video installation link of this wiring kit on a 2020 Hyundai Palisade, and a video review link below. There should be some similarities between the installation of the Palisade and the Tucson.
