FanTastic Vent Fan Troubleshooting And Reprogramming

Question:

Our 5th wheel has I believe a 7350 Vent. It is 4 years old and has rarely been used because the remote dies not seem to connect to the fan. I can push the power button, in Manual or Auto, many times, like up to 15-20 times and nothing happens. Then it will sometimes connect the first try. There are times I push the button to start it and I can hear it attempt to open, but nothing happens. Yes, I have changed the batteries-several times! I am so frustrated I want to throw the remote through the door. I was not provided any manual either. I am now living in the RV and would really like to be able to use this feature. What do I do. My home dealer just tells me, “We didn’t have any trouble with it”. I want to enjoy this feature, but right now, I hate it. I need HELP? Thank you,

That does not sound fun to deal with, I have a solution for you though.

It sounds like either the remote needs to be reset or you do not have proper voltage going to the unit.

To reprogram the remote hold it at least 12 inches or closer to the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Remote - Powered Lift - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" # FV807350. Then hold down the two fan speed buttons. The auto and manual light will begin to flash. Keep holding it down until the lower 7 lights all flash once.

If this doesn't help one of two things needs to happen. Either you have a low voltage input and need to find the connection that is bad or you need to replace the control module using the Fan-Tastic Vent 7350 Series Upgrade Kit - High/Low Style Base - White # FV807359.

You can use a circuit tester like the Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993 to test the wires.

I also attached a list of the options and what everything does since you do not have one.
