How Can I Reduce The Bouncing On My 12 Foot V-Nose Cargo Trailer

Question:

I have 4 3/4inch from the top of the leaf spring plate to the bottom of the trailer frame. Will I have to cut the sumo springs to make them fit? My frame where the springs will touch is only 2inch wide square tubing. Will I have to mount a plate to the bottom of my trailer frame to support the sumo springs.

You can eliminate the bounce in your trailer and smooth your ride with the addition of Sumo Springs. You will have two options, depending on how your leaf springs are mounted on your trailer.

If your leaf springs are underslung, meaning they are under the axle of your trailer, I recommend the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket - Single Axle - 3K to 5K - Underslung, part # TSS-106-40.

If your leaf springs are overslung, meaning they are over the axle of your trailer, I recommend the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket - Single Axle - 3K to 5K - Overslung, part # TSS-107-40.

No, you will not have to cut the SumoSprings, part # TSS-107-40, to make them fit. This is from the SumoSprings instruction manual, "Raise the trailer so that the axle is separated from the frame just enough to place the SumoSprings with the attached bracket assembly on top of the factory spring plate." You should not have to mount a plate to the bottom of your trailer frame. Once your trailer has been lowered the frame of the trailer will keep the SumoSpring in place. I will included a before and after picture below.
