Will Tekonsha P3 Trailer Brake Controller Work Without Re-Flashing Computer On Ram Truck
Question:
Installed on 2010 Ram 3500 with factory brake controller. Will the controller work properly without reflashing the truck computer to eliminate the trailer service message? I can put up with the error message as long as the P3 works.

We recommend having the dealer re-flash the computer once you install an aftermarket trailer brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 on a vehicle with factory trailer brake controller. That said, it should still work there will just be an error present but we have not tested this.
I do know the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 will work with a factory brake controller and it won't create an error message either.
