Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for 1966 Airstream Safari-D With 2 Inch Coupler
Question:
I have a 1966 Airstream Safari with a 2 ball coupler. I need a weight distribution with sway control. I cant find any listed with a 2 ball. Whats your recommendation for this 56 year old trailer?

There are definitely weight distribution hitches that have a 2" ball for your 2" coupler or in some cases you can swap out the ball. When choosing a WDH tongue weight is the most important factor.
From what I have found, the 1966 Airstream Safari-D has a dry weight of 3,360 lbs with no GVWR listed. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of your loaded trailer weight. I recommend finding your exact tongue weight using a scale like the # e99044.
Based on the information available, you will more than likely be able to use the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 7-Hole Shank - 6K GTW, 600 lbs TW # BLU36FR. This WDH has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs. More than likely you will not end up outside of this range. This comes with a 2" ball already so you won't have to worry about swapping anything out to work with your 2" coupler. This also uses friction sway control with the brackets as well as a positive caster angle to help stop sway before it starts.
I have attached a review video along with a helpful article on determining trailer tongue weight for your reference.
