2021 GMC Sierra 1500 6-1/2 Bed Ladder Rack Recommendation to Fit with BAKFlip MX4 Cover

Will the Rapid Switch Ladder Rack RS79FR work with a Bakflip Mx4 on a 2021 Sierra 1500 6.5 foot bed? Is this the most heavy duty option?

The Rapid Switch Systems Pro Sport Ladder Rack # RS79FR is compatible with the BAKFlip MX4 # BAK448131 on your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 6-1/2' bed.

It has a 500 lb weight capacity which is on the lower end of standard ladder racks but about on par for ladder racks that fit with a tonneau cover. The most heavy duty option we have though is the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH43002XT-781 which is rated for 1,250 lbs and it will work with the BAKFlip MX4 as well.

I recommend going with the TracRac SR because it's easier to adjust back and forth along the rails and it has that higher weight capacity. Really the only advantage the Rapid Switch has over the TracRac SR is it has the ability to adjust up and down whereas the TracRac SR has fixed uprights.
