Can You Upgrade from an 8' Awning to a 12' Awning and Use the Same Awning Arms

Question:

My 2022 trailer came with an 8ft solera awning, with 12v lippert expo arms. I want to replace my 8ft roller with a 12ft. Will this roller be compatible? I already have a source for the fabric which would make it much cheaper than purchasing the entire assembly.

The 12v Lippert Expo arms that you have will be able to handle a 12' wide awning. In addition to the Solera Rollbar Only for 12' Black Awning # LC260560261 and fabric you are getting elsewhere, you would also need the Solera Awning Rail Extrusion # LC715217. The Solera Awning Rail Extrusion # LC715217 is needed because you likely only have an 8' extrusion for you current awning, you would cut down the Solera Awning Rail Extrusion # LC715217 to give you 12' total between your current extrusion and this one for your fabric.

Keep in mind that there are likely parts you will need to salvage from your 8' bar to use on the 12' bar for the arms to work properly.
