Can the Ultra-Fab Economy 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer Be Used With Landing Gear Up
Question:
I need to be able to lift the landing gear to work on the underside while my RV is in storage, and id prefer to not need to hitch it to my truck while I’m doing that. The tripod says it has a 5,000 lb weight limit which should easily handle the pin weight, but is that practical?

The Ultra-Fab Economy 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer # UF19-950500 does have a support capacity of 5,000 lbs. However, it is intended for stabilization and you should not rely on it to hold your 5th wheel while working underneath.
The tripod would still be a good idea for stabilization, but you will also need to use bottle jacks like the Powerbuilt Unijack Bottle Jack with Built-In Jack Stand - 21" Lift - 6,000 lbs # ALL620471 to ensure your safety while working on your RV.
