Dolly Towing Kia Soul w/ Hitch and Converter w/ Flat-4 Behind Combined RV
Question:
So Ive purchased a Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 2013 Kia Soul, Code: C56222, to use with my new hitch for towing a utility trailer, but I also want to toss the Kia on a dolly to pull behind my RV with Combined lighting. Where do I tap into the Kia or Converter wiring with my flat-4 wiring harness for marrying up to the RV? Do I need diodes? Should I order the Hopkins Tail Light Isolating Diode System with Wiring Harness, Code: 38955? Ive looked at the wiring diagrams listed under the Diode Kit, and I dont see a diagram that addresses a Towed Vehicle with its own converter and Flat-4 connector.

Does your tow dolly not have lighting already?
Of the various flat towing lighting options available for your Soul (see provided link), a bulb and socket kit like # RM-155 or a magnetic mount lamp kit like # RM-2120 would be the easiest to install and use. Both these kits have the benefit of remaining completely independent of the vehicle wiring, and no diodes will be needed.
Other options like the # 38955 or the # 154-792-118158 diode kit would require more extensive installation. The fact that your Soul already has a towing wiring harness # C56222 installed will not interfere with the installation, the diode kits would simply tap into the vehicle wiring leading to the tail light assemblies. The # 38955 would operate the taillights on your Soul as a combined-type lighting system, using one bulb for the turn signal/ brake lights, while the # 154-792-118158 uses a converter that would operate the taillights as a separate system.
The converter supplied by the # C56222 only comes into play when you are towing something with the Soul, not when its being flat towed.
I have linked you to some flat towing FAQ articles that you might find helpful.
