Recommended Ladder Rack For My 2020 Ford F-150 Short Bed With Crossbars Longer Than 66
Question:
Your info for this rack lists 66inch cross bars. The ADARAC web site says 72inch for full size trucks and 66inch for mid size trucks. Is F-150 considered full size or mid size? I believe it is full size. I need 72inch rails due to the width of my kayaks. What will this kit actually come with? If it is in fact 66inch is there a way to get 72inch replacement rails? Thank you

You are correct. The Ford F-150 is a full size truck. Unfortunately, it is the design of the Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Aluminum - Matte Black - 500 lbs, part # A86RR, that is creating the issue. It is a ladder rack that is mounted in the stake pockets, but it has side rails of varying lengths. In fact, there are three ladder racks for your 2020 Ford F-150. Each of them have side rails of different lengths. I do not know why this is the case, but the Adarac ladder rack for the 5'5" truck bed comes with 66" crossbars. The other two bed lengths get the 72" crossbars.
I do have another option that might better meet your needs. It is a premium option. The Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack - 1,250 lbs, part # TH43002XT-508, is a stake mounted ladder rack with 69-1/2" crossbars and a maximum weight limit of 1,250 lbs. You cannot remove this ladder rack as easy as the Rapid Switch option, but this ladder rack has adjustable legs than can be moved and locked in place.
I have included product description link below.
