What Trunk-Mount 2-Bike Carrier Works with a 2012 Honda Fit With Rear Hatch Spoiler

Question:

Will this rack work for our two bikes on the 2012 Fit with spoiler. Iam confused by the description because it comes up as being suitable for the 2012 Fit but also says excluding sport. In the description it says this is ok with spoilers. I dont want to use a hitch mounted rack and I am really short so a roof rack is not a good option for me. Thanks for your answer.

The Hollywood Racks Expedition 2-bike carrier # HRF6-2 does fit many vehicles with rear spoilers on the trunk lid, but is not a good match for the Honda Fit Sport since its spoiler is at the roof line. A better option from is the Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack # SAR55FR. I have linked an article on trunk-mount bike carriers that might be of interest.

The design of the # SAR55FR accommodates roof-level spoilers. Please refer to the linked video which shows installation of this carrier on a vehicle with a roof-level spoiler. It has an arched dog leg that fits over the spoiler.

Since the # SA55FR does not include locks you might consider an anti-theft device, such as the Saris Calbe Lock and Lock Loop for Trunk Mounted Bikes # SAR52FR.

This dual-arm rack reduces the need for a bike frame adapter bar to mount a children's, women's, or alternative frame bicycle. However, to mount certain bikes or to keep your bike level on the rack, a bike adapter bar may be required. Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar. If you will be transporting kids bikes or bikes without a horizontal top frame tube, such as some women's or alternative-design bikes, I would consider an adapter bar. Saris offers their Bike Beam Bike Frame Adapter Bar # SA3040. This adapter bar lets you carry a woman's, child's, or full-suspension bicycle on your hitch-, trunk-, or spare-tire-mounted bike rack. The Telescoping bar adjusts from 19" to 25" long. Rubber collars won't scratch your bike.
