How To Power Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller on 2019 Mazda CX-9
Question:
How can I connect the 12V power source from the trunks cigarette port to the power accessory black line on my Mazda CX9? I plan to use Curt Echo break controller, dont need the reverse and would rather not run a wire all the way to the battery if possible.

In order to use the Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller part # C51180 on a 2019 Mazda CX-9 which it is a great choice for, you'll need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package part # 118278 and the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7L. The adapter will require the two 4-ways to be plugged in, the ground wire to be attached to metal, and then the power wire to be run up to the battery but the other wires such as the reverse and electric brake output don't need run and can just be tapped off.
Unfortunately, you will need to get power directly from the battery so you have enough juice for the controller and you don't mess with any of the other vehicle circuits.
