The hands free liftgate sensor of your 2019 Ford Edge will still function with the Curt Hitch part # C78KR installed you might just have to place your foot to either side of the hitch opening for it to work.

The heat shield on the 2016 Ford Edge does not get replaced after installing Draw-Tite trailer hitch #75234. The hitch basically takes the place of that heat shield so the bumper fascia is still protected.
