What tow bar and mounting plates do you recommend? Go to pull it with my 2005 F350.

Helpful Expert Reply:
We have one base plate kit that fits your 1999 Ford F-350, the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX2163.
I recommend using the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar, # BX7420. One advantage to using this tow bar is that it comes with the safety cables which are required when towing. It also has a 10,000 poud weight capacity.
Along with the base plates, tow bar and safety cables, there are two more items that you will need to complete your flat towing setup. You will need a light kit and a supplemental braking system. For a light kit, you can use a simple magnetic light kit like the Optronics Magnetic Towing Lights, # TL21RK.
For a supplemental braking system, I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot, # BLU37TR. Most states require the use of a braking system when flat towing and the Patriot is an easy to use proportional braking system that will activate the brakes in your 1999 F-350 with the same intensity as your 2005 F-350.
I have attached a few FAQ articles on flat towing and the flat towing components for you to check out.
