Replacement Actuator Recommendation for Atwood 85778

Question:

What do I hook the electrical wires up to for backing up? I'm not familiar with this setup. I think I need five prong or add another connector for backup. Is that correct?

The best replacement option we offer for an Atwood Surge Brake Actuator 85778 is the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator part # DM62VR. It has the same ball size, offers a bolt-on install, and has a greater capacity. The only functional difference is it has an electric lockout as opposed to a manual one which aren't really used anymore.

You are correct you will need to have a 5-way for the reverse lock out solenoid. On the vehicle side what you'd need is the part # C57187 which plugs into the vehicle 4-way and then gives you a circuit you would run to your vehicle reverse light circuit. Then for the trailer side I would recommend the part # HM47913 which has a circuit tester in each of the pins of it.
