Are Trailer Tires Still Limited to 65 MPH

Question:

Hello: Ive read several statements from tire experts that the STinch designation for trailer tires means they are all automatically restricted to no more than 65 mph, however you have numerous STinch tires with higher speed ratings. Why the difference?

At one point if there was no speed rating listed on a trailer tire you'd have to assume that the speed limit was 65 mph. But what we have seen in recent years is trailer tires increase the speed ratings as customer really do want to be able to travel faster than that so most options are now higher rated.

For example the part # AM32680 that you referenced has now the most common higher rating of 81 mph.
