Gen-Y or Curt RockerBall For 300-400 lb Tongue Weight in 2 Inch Hitch
Question:
For a trailer with 330 - 400 lb tongue weight - would you recommend the Gen Y, Curt Rockerball, or convert-a-ball? Or maybe both the Rockerball on the convert-a-ball mount? Concerned that the tongue weight may not be enough for the Gen Y to operate efficiently? Thanks In advance.

For your tongue weight, you are right about the Gen-Y Glyder like # 325-GH-12001 not being the best option as that requires a tongue weight of at least 400 lbs to reap the benefits. So for your tongue weight below that, I recommend the RockerBall for the best shock absorption.
The Convert-A-Ball and its polyurethane interior won't give you as much cushioning as the RockerBall (which is not compatible with the Convert-A-Ball or other cushioned ball mounts), which is why I like it more. There are also complete kits for the RockerBall and ball mount, depending on how much rise or drop you need:
- 2" Rise/3" Drop: Curt RockerBall Anti-Rattle Towing Kit # C63KR
- 4" Rise/5" Drop: Curt RockerBall Anti-Rattle Towing Kit # C43KR
Bot kits come with the ball mount for 2" hitches, a 2" RockerBall, and an anti-rattle hitch pin.
