When the hubs get hot, and then backed into water for unloading, they have a tendency to suck water into the hub. Normal dust caps will not offer much protection. If you are looking for a bearing cap replacement that keeps out water and dirt, then the Bearing Buddy would be what you need to consider. The Bearing Buddy, like part # BB1980A-SS that fits a 1.980 hub bore, also includes the rubber protectors.
You would have to either have the outer bearing number, or take an exact measurement of the hub bore, by using either a dial or digital caliper. This will help determine which Bearing Buddy is the best fit for you. I have linked you to a video demonstrating the installation of the Bearing Buddy.
Please note that you will need a double lip seal to prevent the grease from blowing out when you are adding grease.
