Comparing 225/75-15 Tires for 2020 Dutchmen Kodiak Travel Trailer
Question:
My trailer weight is 7600 pounds empty, say about 8500 once we load it. looking at the goodyear endurance tire 225/75 15 10ply, and the transeagle 14ply 225/75 15 tire. My question is: would a 14ply tires be too bouncy for the weight on this trailer? Also what would be your recommendation? I really appreciate any info you could provide before I go through the expense. Thank you very much

Although we don't carry either of these and my knowledge on Transeagle is limited, I would choose the Goodyear for their known quality. There is really no reason to go with a load range G 14 ply tire when the load range E 10 ply tire has more than enough capacity. It is hard to say if it would result in a bouncy ride being overrated like those are but it is possible. I would check the speed rating on the tires as well. If they do not list a speed rating you will be limited to 65 mph. One other thing to consider would be the warranty. I would check out the warranty for both.
If you would like an additional option to consider I recommend the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # AM10303. This is also a 10 ply tire with a maximum load of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi. It also has a speed rating of M for 81 mph. It comes with a 5-year limited warranty and a 1-year worry-free guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way, it will be replaced at no charge.
