Replacement Brakes for 2000 Weekend Warrior SLC3905

Question:

Hello, I have a 2000 Weekend Warrior SLC3905 fifth wheel and I am looking for brake replacements. It has three axles with two axles with brakes. I’m uncertain if I would need the drums but wanted to know if you had the correct parts replacement for this trailer. Thanks

From what I found on a similar Weekend Warrior SLC3905 you have 5,200 lb axles. I recommend checking your axle tags to verify this information. You should be able to see the capacity, or possibly find a serial number which you could use to call the axle manufacturer and identify the axle. It is important to select brakes that match your axle capacity.

Assuming you find that this information is correct, I recommend self-adjusting brakes like the # AKEBRK-7R-SA for the right hand and the # AKEBRK-7L-SA for the left hand side. These work for 5,200-7,000 lb axles with a 5 bolt mounting flange pattern and fit a 12" x 2" drum.

More than likely you will not need new drums but you can inspect them while you are changing the brakes. If you find grooves worn in the armature surface that the brake magnet rides on, or the surface that the pads grab, then it is time to replace the hubs. In order to find the right replacement hubs and drums you would also need the information from your axle. In this case you would need to know which bearings the axles use in addition to the capacity.

I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference. If you find that you have axles with a different capacity feel free to reach out and I will help you find the correct replacement brake assemblies.
