Recommended Replacement For A Fantastic Vent Model 4301
Question:
I have a fantastic fan model 4301 it is in a 2014 Newmar Dutch star I have current to the push button switch on the wall but the fan will not open or turn on. Even if you open it manually the fan motor does not kick on and it is very difficult to crank open manually. Could it be a bad circuit board?

There could be few reasons that your Fantastic Vent isn't working; a bad control board, lack of power, a bad motor, etc. I first recommend checking the power at the vent. If you aren't receiving 12v at vent it could be due to a blown fuse, loose/damaged wire, too small gauge of wire causing a voltage drop. Once you've ruled that out then your next options would be to replace the motor and/or the control board.
The motor can be replaced with # FVK8017-00 but the control board is only able to be purchased with part # FV807357.
Since the lift is also giving you issues my honest recommendation is to skip trying each part separately until it works, which could be more costly with no guarantee of fixing the issue, and just replacing the vent altogether with the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # FV802250 or the # FV803350 if you'd prefer the powered lift.
