How do I Upgrade to Automatic Awnings on My 2008 Jayco Melbourne 29D Motorhome?

Question:

It is a Carefree side awning with curved arms for the manual set up on the Jayco Melbourne 29D. This is a motorhome we are considering purchasing. We are wanting to bring some of the features up to date. If you absolutely need serial numbers it may be possible to get them.

Thanks so much for reaching out to us here at etrailer. Do you know what current manual awning setup you have on your 2007 Jayco Melbourne 29D? Also, do you have a model number or serial number?

Thanks for the information! With the manual Carefree side awning on your 2007 Jayco Melbourne 29D, we confirmed with Lippert (the makers of the electric awnings we carry) that you will need a complete hardware kit to upgrade to an automatic awning. For that kit, you can use the Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit - Universal - 69" Arms # LC434724 (white) or # LC434723 (black). I went ahead and attached a review video that shows it in action. There needs to be at least 69" of unobstructed area from awning rail straight down, and 2-1/2" minimum clearance needed between awning rail and top of entry door. To be entirely sure that this will fit, I will need a serial number or photos of your current setup. As far as an automatic leveling system, we unfortunately do not carry any automatic leveling for motorhomes with a gross vehicle weight rating of 14,050 pounds.
