Can The Demco Air Force One Braking System Be Used With a Motorhome With Hydraulic Brakes?

Question:

I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler with air force one installed. I want to tow it with 2012, 25 VIA diesel, no air. Is there a way to install air in RV to accomodate air force one. Probably not through existing brakes on RV

I'm going to recommend installing the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR on your 2008 Jeep Wrangler. You will be able to reuse some of the wiring like the breakaway switch and air lines that tie into the vacuum brake booster. There is no way of adding a device to your 2012 25 Via that will allow the Air Force One # SM99243 to work.

The Air Force One relies on the air pressure from the brake system that changes with the amount of force applied to the brake pedal and that can't be replicated with a hydraulic system.

The Stay-IN-Play Duo requires 2 inputs before it begins to brake your Jeep. It wants to feel the inertia that the vehicle is slowing down and a brake light signal from the towing vehicle. This prevents false braking when you are lightly pushing on the brake pedal and when coasting.
