Is It Normal For My DeeZee Lift To Operate Slower in Cold Temperatures

Just installed this on my 2021 Silverado. The install process was great. A it works perfectly. That is until the temperature ped. At 28 degrees Fahrenheit, it would start the . I gave it a little help and it creeped down and eventually made it down. Not sure what to do. Feedback! Thank you.

I did some research on the DeeZee website and your DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for Pickup Trucks, part # DZ43200, will operate more slowly when the temperature drops. I believe this is because the oil becomes less viscous in colder temperatures. Per DeeZee, you should not add any force to your tailgate assist to help it along.
If this is not the case and your tailgate assist has a malfunction, it does come with a 3-year warranty. I have included a product review of this item below.
