Can Weight Distribution for 2,200 lb be Used with 1,100 lb Tongue Weight

Question:

Trying to get the right WD hitch I will weigh my tong weight with a scale i bought from you .I see that i,m supposed to add cargo weight thats behind rear axle. I believe my tong weight is 1100 and my cargo weight will be near 1000. How will a 2200 hitch work with no cargo in truck trailer is 8000.

When using a weight distribution for a tongue weight of 2,200 lbs like the Torklift SuperHitch part # TLWD1000 that is setup for that tongue weight you would have to disconnect the spring bars if you were to lower the tongue weight by 1,000 lbs as it would be far too stiff and harsh and would unweight the rear axle of the tow vehicle potentially.
